addition,theuniversity'sCoursePowerplatformseemedtobeabitarchaic,butluckilytheoptionofusingGoogleClassroomemerged,albeitquitelate.Thispaperwilldescribethecontentsofthetwoclassesandexplainhowtheseclasseswereconductedinthespringsemesterof2020.2ClasscontentsThissectionofthepaperwilllayoutthecontentsofbothIEAandCandprovidetheframeworkusedforthethreetopicscoveredforeachclass.Ineachoftheseclasses,studentsarepresentedwiththreetopicscontainingtworeadingsoneachtopicforatotalofsixreadings.Table1showsthetopicsandreadingscoveredineachclass.Theseclassesmeettwiceaweekforatotalof30timesduringthesemester.Onecycleusingonetopiciscomprisedofeightclasses.Table2showswhatonecyclelookslikeandisdescribedinthethirdpartofthispaper.Theremainingsixclassesareusedinthefollowingways.Thefirstclassofthesemesterisanintroductiontothecourseandareviewofthematerialfromthepreviouscourse.Ofcourse,forIEA,thefirstclassfocusesheavilyonexplanationsaboutthecourseandwhatisexpectedofthestudents.Thisincludesanexplanationofourextensivereadingprogram,howtoregisterforthewebsitesweareusing,andanoverviewoftheclassasawhole.Twooftheseclassesareusedforthepostertest.Studentswhoarenotbeingtestedareexpectedtobestudyingforthefinalexam,whichhappensonthefinaldayofclass.Thisleavesuswithtwoclassesremaining.Oneoftheseclassesisanexplanationofthepostertestandtheotherisareviewforthefinalexam.3ConductingclassInface-to-faceclasses,studentsspendtimecollaboratinginclass.Thisisprimarilyrelatedtovocabularystudyandcomparinganswerstocomprehensionquestions.Atthebeginningofthesemester,wewereuncertainofthereliabilityofstudents’internetconnections,soweoptedforanapproachthatmainlyusedanon-demandtypesystem,althoughwedidhavedeadlinessetfortheassignments.Becauseofthis,studentswereunabletocollaborateinclass.Whethertheydidthisontheirown,ornot,isunclear.Mostoftheclasseswereasynchronous,soaplanforeachclasswaswritten.StudentsweretoreadthatplanintheformofaPDFforeachclass,whichJournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.20（2020）―38―Table1TopicsandreadingsforeachclassTable2Onecycleofclasses
