―57―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.18（2018）EducationalEffectsofBeingaMemberoftheOrganizationCommitteeofaUniversity-levelParentingSeminaronNursingStudentsYAMASHITAMegumi＊1,OKAKURAMisaki＊2,HASHIMOTOTaeko＊3andYOKOTENaomi＊4＊1SeniorAssistantProfessor,DepartmentofNursing,CollegeofLifeandHealth,ChubuUniversity＊2ResearchAssociate,CenterforNursingPracticumSupport,ChubuUniversity＊3AssistantProfessor,CenterforNursingPracticumSupport,ChubuUniversity＊4AssociateProfessor,DepartmentofNursing,CollegeofLifeandHealth,ChubuUniversityAbstractTheDepartmentofHealthNursingincludesthefieldofmaternitynursing,andaseriesoffourchildcareseminarsforinfantsandtheirmothersisconductedasapartofourcommunitychildcaresupportprogram.Studentsareinvolvedintheorganizationoftheseseminars,sothattheirparticipationfurtherenhancestheirgrowthanddevelopment.Here,weexaminedtheeducationaleffectoftheirparticipationinorganizingtheseseminars.Thesubjectswere11femalestudentsintheirfourthyearattheDepartmentofHealthNursingwhoparticipatedintheorganizationoftheseminars.Groupinterviews（3-4subjectsineachgroup）wereconductedaftertheconclusionoftheseminarstodeterminethelearningsandperceptionsofthestudents.Theirresponseswereanalyzedusingaqualitativeintegrationmethod（theKJmethod）.Theresultsindicatedthatthestudentsgainedanunderstandingofbothmaternalandinfantgrowthandknowledgeregardingthedevelopmentofmother-childrelationshipbycomparingthebehaviorandotheraspectsofthemothersandinfantsbetweenclinicaltrainingandduringtheseminars.Additionally,thestudentsperceivedtheneedforaplacewhereinmotherscanexperienceachangefromtheirnormalroutineandwheretheycanshareandexchangeinformationwithothermothersalongwithaneedforcontinuoussupportafterhospitaldischarge.Theexperienceofservingasaseminarstaffmemberallowedthenursingstudentstogainaclearperspectiveregardingthepost-dischargedailylifeofmothersandinfantsaswellastheirgrowth.Theygainedadifferentunderstandingoftheneedforcontinuouschildcaresupport;moreover,thestudentsgotanopportunitytoexperienceadifferentstyleofeducationthatfacilitatedpersonalgrowth.Keywordsnursingstudents,learningandgrowthtogether,parentingsupport,seminaradministration,qualitativeintegrationmethod（theKJmethod）
