―81―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.17(2017)DevelopmentofPracticeinPublicHealthNursingActivitieswithParent-ChildVolunteersMIYATAKEMakiko*1,SHIRAISHITomoko*2andKITANOYoshie*3*1AssistantProfessor,DepartmentofNursing,CollegeofLifeandHealth,ChubuUniversity*2Professor,DepartmentofNursing,CollegeofLifeandHealth,ChubuUniversity*3ResearchAssociate,CenterforNursingPracticum,ChubuUniversityAbstractHerewepresentamaternalandchildhealtheducationprogramwithparent-childvolunteersaspartofourPracticeinPublicHealthNursingActivitiesinouruniversity'scourseonPublicHealthNursingeducation.Thegoaloftheprogramwastoenhancestudentstogainavisualknowledgeofthegrowthanddevelopmentofachild,understandthefeelingsofamotherenrolledinparentingandthelivingconditionsofafamilywithinfantsandyoungchildrenbyactuallyinteractingwiththeparent-childvolunteers.Studentsweredividedintogroupsof3-4membersinadvanceandwereassignedtodesigna“playscheduleforthechild”thatwouldencouragedevelopmentalgrowthand“interviewquestionsforthemother”asamaternalandchildhealthprofessional.Onthedayoftheinterview,eachgroupwasgivenachancetomeet2parent-childvolunteersandcarryontheplayschedulesandinterviews.Inthis“Parent-Childvolunteerparticipationprogram,”environmentalpreparationwasnecessaryforthesafetyofachild,andthestudentswereabletogainsuccessfulexperiencethroughsatisfactionofthevolunteers.Weplantoimplementmultilateralevaluationinordertofurtherassesstheeffectsandproblemsoftheprogram.KeywordsParent-Child,Volunteers,NursingPractice,PublicHealthNursing,MaternalandChildHealth
