―111―JournalofChubuUniversityEducationNo.17(2017)Effectsof"SelfMotivationalDevelopment"inCareerEducation:Evaluationof2016AutumnSemesterCourseSATOTomomi*1,SUGIMOTOHideharu*2andTERAZAWAAsako*3*1AssociateProfessor,InstituteofLiberalArts,KyushuInstituteofTechnology*2SeniorLecturer,DepartmentofPsychology,SurugadaiUniversity*3Professor,DepartmentofManagementSynthesis,CollegeofBusinessAdministrationandInformationScience,ChubuUniversityAbstractThisstudyexaminedtheeffectsof“Selfmotivationaldevelopment”incareereducation.Comparisonbetweenstudentswhoattendedtheclassandwhodidnot,revealedthattheclasshadabeneficialeffectongeneralskillforproductivecollegelife,suchasself-esteemandcommunicationskills.However,thestudentswhodidnotattendtheclassincreasedcareerconsciousnesssuchasself-efficacyoncareerdecisionandcareeradaptability,asmuchasthestudentswhoattendedtheclass.Thisstudyalsofoundoutthatmoreimprovementofthegeneralskillsandthecareerconsciousnesswasseeninshort-termintensiveclassthaninlong-termdistributedclass.Inaddition,thestudentswhocouldspecifywhattheyhavelearnedfromthecourseshowedgoodimprovementofthegeneralskillsandthecareerconsciousness.Fromtheseresults,thisstudymadeseveralsuggestionsonhowtoprovidemoreeffectivecareereducationin“Selfmotivationaldevelopment.”KeywordsEducationalevaluation,Careereducation,Careerconsciousness,Classformation
